A Second Career in Color and Craft
The Story Behind Stark Art
After more than forty years in the medical field, Noreen Stark traded scrubs for studio tools and built Stark Art — a cozy little space where she could finally slow down and create things that made her happy.
A New Chapter in Creativity
What began as a way to unwind has become a rewarding second chapter — a place where handcrafted resin art and nature-inspired design come together to create pieces that feel alive and meaningful.
Inside the Stark Art Studio
Working with resin, wood, glass, and botanicals, Noreen designs trays, wall art, and planters that bring the calm beauty of nature indoors. Each piece is layered with texture, color, and light — capturing moments that remind us to slow down and appreciate simple things.
The Heart Behind Her Work
Her approach is thoughtful and personal. Whether it’s a shell embedded in resin, a preserved flower, or a gentle swirl of color that catches the light, every piece carries a touch of story and care.
When she’s not in the studio, Noreen can be found outdoors — on the golf course, at art shows, or exploring new ideas that inspire her next collection.
-
Yes it is! Once the resin is fully cured, it is food safe. (per the MSDS info that comes with the resin I use)
-
The cutting boards are actual cutting boards, but the resin will scratch if you cut on it with a serrated knife.
-
I have a studio room in our home that is dedicated to only my art. It is well ventilated and the fumes and dust are monitored as to limit my exposure.
-
I do not offer classes. The reason being is its very difficult to control your environment. You can not have any pet hair, bugs, etc. floating around in your room. Nothing is worse than a dead fly or hair in the middle of a beautiful resin piece!
-
Once the resin is fully cured it is not toxic. (As per the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) Provided by the manufacturer of the resin I use)
Why She Creates
Every piece starts with a simple idea — a color she loves, a texture that catches her eye, or a material she wants to explore. In the studio, Noreen transforms those ideas into functional art meant to be used, loved, and lived with. Her work blends texture, shine, and natural elements to create pieces that feel familiar, calming, and uniquely personal.
Noreen designs pieces that feel grounded, familiar, and intentionally made. Resin, wood, and natural textures come together in a way that encourages people to slow down and enjoy something beautiful in their everyday life.
